Even in a low-inventory market like the one we’re experiencing right now, homes that have the updates buyers are searching for sell much faster and for a much higher price.

How does Compass Concierge work? It’s easy. Our listing team knows from experience which updates increase home values and we focus on those. Every home is going to need something different. In general, though, paint and flooring are the most important followed by countertops.

You may not need to spend $30,000. Many of our sellers spend under $15,000 to make updates. If your home is vacant or has older furnishings and accessories, you may only need some staging. That could run just a couple thousand dollars. We’ll work with you to determine a budget and choose which ones will benefit you and your home the most.

The question then becomes how to pay for home renovations. That’s where Compass Concierge comes in. We’ll front you the money for those updates and then you’ll simply pay it back at closing. Best of all, there are no fees or interest. All the profit goes to you. Pretty simple, right?

Again, we could have sold it without doing a thing. But I knew that if they were willing to put a little money into the kitchen and bathrooms – a little, not a lot – they’d get a lot more out of their house.
